Summary:
This role designs and develops all aspects of Power Package units to meet customer requirements. The Mechanical Engineer also provides documentation, instructions, and drawings that define how units are fabricated and assembled.

Accountabilities:
  • Create designs for manufacturing including 2D and 3D modeling sheet metal and weldments using CAD tools. 
  • Use CAD tools to revise and document mechanical assemblies, drawings and parts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical engineering issues as necessary.
  • Work with third party engineering firms to review structural elements for enclosures.  
  • Prepare bills of materials to estimate steel cost and other materials needed for unit.
  • Work efficiently with other departments to ensure products meet safety and quality standards.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience working in engineering field preferred. 
  • Familiarity with CAD SolidWorks preferred.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. 
  • Able to read and understand P&ID. 
  • Ability to think creatively and devise novel solutions to complex, multi-disciplined design problems. 
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to self-motivate. 
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively across departments. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, required.
  • Understanding the forming of sheet metal work and capabilities preferred. 
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)
  • This role will be in office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
