Job Summary: The Assembly Lead will manage a team of 5-7 employees in the assembly department, focusing on training, coaching, and mentoring to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of assembly tasks. This role is accountable for maintaining accurate timekeeping records, monitoring team performance, and upholding safety, quality, and delivery standards. Reporting directly to the Assembly Area Supervisor, the Assembly Lead will collaborate closely with cross-functional department leaders to meet critical project deadlines and drive operational success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and collaborate with other leads and managers to achieve quality, safety, and delivery goals.
  • Ensure all team members comply with all safety protocols.
  • Review timesheets and team time management. Clocking into jobs and in and out of new jobs, assisting with providing direction on the app as needed
  • Manage the workload of the team to align with the production deadlines.
  • Act as first point of contact for employee questions regarding company policies and procedures, attendance expectations, and other general questions from crew.
  • Ensure the following tasks are completed according to standards in a timely manner:
    • Perform all operations required in enclosure department
    • Train assemblers and delegate within the department
  • Oversee that quality checklists are completed, and all steps are followed.
  • Mentor, coach and train team members to work through tier levels within Assembly discipline.
  • Recognize and reward team and individual successes.
  • Elevate the need for conflict resolution and mitigation of grievances and complaints to supervisor.
  • Provide team members with an initial 90-day overview of how they are preforming on assigned tasks, outlining needed improvements and recognizing mastery of tasks thus far. Provide input on annual reviews thereafter.
  • Ongoing performance feedback coaching through meeting with employees 1x1
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and express any variances.


Qualifications & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is desired OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required)
  • At least 3 years of experience related to Assembly, in one or more of the following, welding, overhead crane or fabrication.
  • At least 1 year as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of welding and/or fabrication.
  • Lead teams with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving basic to complex issues.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and peers to encourage teamwork and accountability.
  • Exhibit consistent time management skills and adapt to quickly changing priorities.
  • Experience accurately reading and interpreting blueprints and identifying irregularities.
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality and ability to identify imperfections.
  • Demonstrate clear communication with other internal teams/supervisors/management.
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace.
  • Have reliable attendance, be respectful and responsible at work.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
  • Experience and understanding of overhead cranes and forklifts and scissor lifts.
