 Job Summary:
As the Crane Operator Lead at JTS, you will be responsible for leading and executing all crane and rigging operations to support the safe and efficient movement of heavy equipment and components for generator unit assembly and yard operations. This senior-level leadership role combines expert crane operation with advanced rigging oversight. You will supervise crane and rigging crews, coordinate complex lifts, ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards, and serve as the primary liaison between field teams and project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate daily crane and rigging operations, assigning tasks and supervising crews
  • Operate various types of cranes (e.g., mobile, overhead, tower) to safely lift and transport heavy loads
  • Review and execute lift plans, ensuring alignment with project specifications and safety protocols
  • Conduct and document pre-operation inspections of cranes, rigging gear, and lifting equipment
  • Calculate load weights, crane capacities, and lift angles to ensure safe and balanced lifts
  • Ensure proper rigging configurations and securement in collaboration with rigging teams
  • Maintain constant communication with signal personnel and ground crews during lifts
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior crane operators and riggers
  • Identify and report equipment deficiencies, procedural deviations, and safety concerns
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, lift plans, and incident reports

 Qualifications & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Valid NCCCO Certification or equivalent (required)
  • Valid Advanced Rigging Certification (Preferred)
  • OSHA 30 Certification (Preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of crane operation and rigging experience, including leadership roles
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, ASME, ANSI standards and best practices
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, lift plans, and technical schematics
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills related to inspections and quality control
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining the highest safety standards
