JOB SUMMARY:
The Commercial Manager will receive requests for proposals and is responsible for preparing a detailed and accurate estimate for projects of varying size and scope. This would include identifying labor, material, and scope for each proposal. You will collaborate with fellow estimators, engineers, purchasing as well as other departments to accurately calculate an estimate. We are looking to add a team member that is self-motivated with a disciplined approach, exceptional numerical and analytical skills, and proficient with computers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain and cultivate client relationships to ensure ongoing business opportunities.
  • Develop proposals that accurately reflect the project scope, including clarifications and exclusion pertinent to each bid.
  • Communicate with customers to clarify their request for proposal.
  • Review customer specifications and determine scope of project.
  • Design building layouts on AutoCAD using single-line drawings and equipment drawings.
  • Define costs associated with engineering, production labor, materials, services, equipment and code requirements for use in developing proposals for customers.
  • Interface with vendors to obtain pricing for quotes.
  • Host internal reviews with different departments depending upon complexity of project.
  • Develop and submit proposals to customers.
  • Confirm final selling price with appropriate divisional personnel.
  • Maintain databases (SharePoint and Excel) to facilitate the collection of data for estimates including continually updating material and labor costs.
  • Perform peer reviews and assist with questions.
  • Execute commercial risk management process.
  • Collaborate with Operations during project handoff meetings to provide essential information and feedback for project planning.
  • Use resources effectively to generate solutions and take initiative when resolving problems.
  • Assist Outside Sales, various other departments with other customer requests.
  • Inputting and closing out orders in the EPR system.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is desired OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required)
  • 2-4 years of estimating experience preferred
  • Understanding of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
  • Good background in mathematic drafting, and plan reading.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in varying size and complexity.
  • Attention to detail and ability to recognize and correct discrepancies.
  • Experience using Adobe and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience using AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Excell and EPR systems.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written in a formal or informal. presentation environment.
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace.
  • Have reliable attendance, be respectful and responsible at work.
